Girlguiding Lancashire North West
We discover, we grow

Guys Farm Activity Centre is the County’s residential activity centre. However, there are many other venues in the county that you may be interested in hiring for your term events:

Silver Sapling Campsite

Enclosed by picturesque woodland, Silver Sapling is a voluntary run campsite that provides an outstanding outdoors experience for Girlguiding members, as well as family camps, schools and other non-guide association groups. We are easily accessible from the M6, yet set in peaceful countryside, located in a National Trust “area of outstanding natural beauty”.  With direct access to beautiful woodland walks and stunning rocky coastlines, Silver Sapling campsite provides camping facilities for large or small camps at very competitive prices.

Rene Sladen Centre for Guiding, Penwortham

The centre is located on Chesmere Drive, Penwortham (PR1 ORA), and boasts two rooms (41ft by 20ft in the Main Hall and 20ft by 10ft in the Bolton

Room), and a small basic kitchen. The superb grass outdoor space is ideal for games and outdoor events, and there is even a small car park on-site.

Centre hire costs £15 for the first hour, and £10 an hour onwards. There are reduced rates available for Guiding and Scouting groups, so why not get in touch and ask for a quote?

Just email the Rene Sladen Centre for Guiding at for more details.
