Preston North

Division Commissioner: Sandra Davies
Broughton District Commissioner: Alison Allcock
Fulwood District Commissioner: Julie Bradford, Julieann Noon, Catherine Foster
Northgate District Commissioner: Susan Sanderson

We have 3 districts: Broughton, Fulwood and Northgate; these cover the Fulwood and Ribbleton urban areas of Preston and more rural areas to the north including Broughton, Barton, Grimsargh, Goosnargh and Woodplumpton.

Preston North is an active division from Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Senior Section units. The division boasts its own Guide Hut, with other units meeting in church or school halls, mainly on a weekly basis. The last census figures show that Preston North Division has almost 40 units with nearly 800 members.

All our units run great guiding programmes with many of the units holding annual residential events both indoor and outdoor.

The division sponsors a room at the County’s activity centre Guy’s Farm and units take full advantage of the facilities with many indoor and outdoor residential events being held here, along with division activity days.

We hold activity days specifically for Rainbows, Brownies and Guides and take part in the many County and Region activities including the Guystonbury music festival for Guides, Winter Wonderland for Brownies and Rainbow Razaam Superheroes. We hold Brownie and Guide Competitions competing for our Division Trophies each year.

Preston North offers a warm welcome to any new members, and anyone interested in offering a few hours a month to help continue the good work! Please register at www.girlguiding.org.uk “get involved”.
