We have 3 districts: Broughton, Fulwood and Northgate; these cover the Fulwood and Ribbleton urban areas of Preston and more rural areas to the north including Broughton, Barton, Grimsargh and Goosnargh.

Preston North is an active division with Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Senior Section Units.  The lastest figures show that Preston North Division has almost 40 units with nearly 800 members meeting mainly weekly during school terms. Broughton District meet in its own Guide hut.

All our units run varied guiding programmes with many of the units holding annual residential events both indoor and camping outdoors.

We have access to our County’s activity centre Guy’s Farm and units take full advantage of the facilities, including high ropes and paddle boarding, with many indoor and outdoor residential events being held here. We also enjoy Waddow Hall at Clitheroe where a favourite outdoor activity is the zip wire. Guides recently had a sleepover at Blackpool Tower.

We take part in the many County, Region and UK activities including the Guystonbury music festival and Big Gig for Guides, Thinking Day at Waddow Hall and Gulliver’s World

We love working on badges and many units are working towards Girlguiding Lancashire North West’s Year of Adventure badge.

Preston North offers a warm welcome to any new members, and anyone interested in offering a few hours a month to help continue the good work please register at Girlguiding.org.uk “get involved”.
